ANNOUNCEMENT – CONCORD SCHEDULE CHANGES

It has always been a major aim of Concord Youth Music that we seek out new experiences, new audiences and new venues for our performances. We have been successful in this respect, especially this coming year when we have already completed a successful appearance at Sheffield’s famous Yellow Arch Studios, we have entered Indoor Music Games events in both Essex and South Yorkshire and we are currently awaiting confirmation and details for Sheffield’s widely-renowned Tramlines Festival (where we are regular performers); HubFest and Big Boulder Festivals. Our latest exciting news is confirmation of a booking to perform at the prestigious Eroica Festival in Bakewell, Derbyshire which should give us our largest audience to date.

To accommodate these, and hopefully a few others, we have decided that our annual musical theatre show will revert to a bi-annual event, giving our creative team a little more time to design and develop the shows whilst undertaking a variety of other projects. The theatre shows are, without doubt, the “Jewels in our Crown” and we fully intend that they will continue to provide exciting and innovative entertainment for our audiences for years to come. The next date at The Montgomery Theatre will be October 2019 and we hope to announce details of the theme well before the end of this year.

To alternate with the musical theatre shows, we are planning to produce another spectacular and quite different form of musical entertainment. This will be an indoor festival of music featuring our own ensembles and a host of guest artistes and performers with a definite youth basis. We intend to present this in a novel and different format which will fascinate and excite our audiences. Under the provisional working title of “The Imaginarium Festival” and with a date set for Saturday 20th October 2018 (put it in your diaries), details of the line-up, venue and ticket arrangements will be announced very soon.

Concord Youth Music continues to be dedicated to providing our members with a wide range of opportunities to learn to play musical instruments and to perform in ensembles for the entertainment and delight of our audiences. We hope you will agree that, this coming year, we can promise to fulfil this aim.

CAN YOUR EMPLOYER HELP US ?
Many companies and organisations have a “Community Fund” which will donate to good causes (like Concord) especially if one of their employees is an active supporter of the group. Does your employer do this? Have you asked? It can just take a question to open the doors. Sometimes they will sponsor things like t-shirts of brochures, etc to get their company name out there. If you need any supporting material, we have some specially-designed information sheets and, of course, our shiny new AllStars flyers (see below). Make the ask – today !
